Indira Gandhi em Portugal (1940): like being in India...

"She was stranded in Lisbon, waiting for a flight to England, for nearly two months. "The Portuguese are very poor and very dirty" she wrote to Nehru (...)."A lot of women and children are barefooted and there are many beggars. People spit all over the place - there is a terrific amount of shouting and many hawkers... It is almost like being in India."

Katherine Frank, Indira, the life of Indira Nehru Gandhi, Harper Collins, 2001
